Removing engineering obstacles through creative thinking.
This judged award is given to the team that best reflects the journey the team took as they experienced the engineering design process during the build season. The engineering content within the portfolio is the key reference for judges to help identify the most deserving team. The teams engineering content must focus on the design and build stage of the team’s robot.
The team must be able to share or provide additional detailed information that is helpful for the judges. This would include descriptions of the underlying science and mathematics of the robot design and game strategies, the designs, redesigns, successes, and opportunities for improvement. A team is not a candidate for this award if their portfolio does not include engineering content.

FTC India National Championship was an incredible experience. We competed with as many as 40+ FTC teams across the nation. We won all 5 Qualification matches & stood beside top ranking teams. FTC Team 4016 Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Graciously invited us to join as an Alliance. We lost the semifinal but we clinched Think Award and were also the nominees for Inspire Award & Motivate Award.

Our Journey

Robot Game

Neuron can complete all the assorted tasks required for this challenge, such as and not limited to; transporting all the freights to both the shared shipping hub as well as alliance shipping hub, going over and around the pipes, and doing the capping task. We have executed these tasks through meticulous and unique advancements in the robot structure and mechanisms.

Community Outreach

With an intention to reach a broader spectrum of the society to promote STEM, Robotics & Coding we have taken various initiatives, ranging from group sessions in various NGOs to STEMInspire series to apps building for different communities.

Fundraising

We did approach a few corporates in this season who have agreed for the next year and not this year due to bad impact on their business due to Covid-19.

Brief Outlook of our Helping Hand towards Community

AASTHA NGO 2022

The first outreach that we conducted was at Aastha NGO. The motive was to spread the ideas of STEM & Robotics and promote FIRST to underprivileged kids from the neighboring areas.  We shared with them the ideals of STEM, the innovations and wonders of the technical world through hands on experience via EV3 base robot construction. We left that day with the knowledge of the fact that we had just changed the lives of 60 young minds and that we sparked a flame of curiosity in their hearts. It was the best outcome we could have hoped for.

Maheshwari Ashram 2022

To inspire our senior citizens, we conducted a similar workshop of robot building with them. We shared the advancements of technology the world has today. After a round of robot building we demonstrated our robot and its purpose. To them even the word robot was alien so we first explained to them what a robot was and how the term revolutionized to become what it is today. That smile on their faces and feeling of accomplishment was exhilarating. We are eternally grateful to get a chance to share our knowledge with these wonderful ladies and open them up to all the brilliant things technology can offer, and, as a bonus the curator’s operators son was inspired to join robotics and pursue a course in the same and we got tons of blessings and prayers from each of those gracious ladies.

International Outreach 2022

We got in touch with a group of 9 students in London and US and conducted a Scratch session with them via zoom. The motive of the session was to be able to sustain their thirst for technological knowledge and open up a few new kids to the brilliant world of coding and digital designing. It was a 90 minutes session where the group was split into 2 based on experience and hands on with Scratch.

After 60 minutes of teaching and doubt solving, we assigned them the culmination task where they had to create a project on basis of what knowledge they had gained. The results were epic, they all came up with their own ideas, some created games, whereas some made up stories. All in all it was a huge success that both parties enjoyed and it left the students wanting to go delve into the world of STEM & Robotics.

FLL & FTC Scorer

We designed an FTC & FLL scorer, which is available on google play store. We aim to update this from season to season.

FLL Scorer: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=appinventor.ai_robofunlab.CARGO_CONNECT_SCORER

FTC Scorer: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=appinventor.ai_robofunlab.FREIGHT_FRENZY_SCORER

CA, Designer Cohort

In order to bring awareness amongst the parents, we conducted our FTC robot showcase for businessmen who have their offices in the same building as we practiced there for the competition. They eventually felt that practical learning is the need of an hour and programs like FIRST are the right platforms to initiate with.

International Women’s Day Special

A great writer once wrote about sexism saying that “it’s not a men vs women issue it’s about people vs prejudice” Blue Blizzards strongly believe in the same. That’s why on 8th March, women’s day, we mustered the women around to commemorate that. We endeavored to enlighten them of the robotics advancements around us and in particular our challenge and tasks, we then proceeded to show them our robot and explain the mechanisms. At the end of the day we left with the satisfaction of knowing that we made a change in the lives of people who might to be actively ignored , but still sometimes forgotten in a mans world, and, the knowledge that 8 women , 8 ladies are now out there with same love for robotics that lights us.

STEMInspire Series

“Wonder is the beginning of wisdom” – Socrates has rightly captured the essence of our current initiative – STEMInspire. As a part of our community outreach we posted a series of videos with simple yet intriguing Science experiments. The best part was – people could be a part of it by conducting these experiments from the comfort of their homes or actively give their inputs after every video via comments. In times when physical interaction seems to be a challenge, we have adapted to the virtual platform using which we can reach a wide range of potential and Ignite in them a spark of curiosity which is a major asset in the world of STEM & Robotics.

Brief Outlook of All Our Community Outreaches

Codeavour 2019

Codeavour 2019 was our first community outreach. Codeavour is an online programming contest at the international level for kids to encourage them to bring out their inner programmer and come up with innovative ways to achieve a goal among the 17 global sustainable development goals set by the United Nations General Assembly for 2030 by creating a project in PictoBlox. PictoBlox is a graphical programming software based on Scratch. We had organized and volunteered a workshop based on Codeavour 2019.

CODEAVOUR 2019

Mercado 2019

Mercado was an event hosted by the Saint Mary’s School, Rajkot with the support of Saint Paul’s School. It was an initiative taken by commerce students to organise a bazaar in their school premises. This presented us with an opportunity to promote FIRST and STEM at such a massive stage. We not only encouraged the youth of the school, but also demonstrated several models to young minds who equally participated. With FIRST and STEM as our driving force, we engaged students in different robots and machines made with Lego Mind-storms EV3. The Mercado also helped us spread knowledge about FIRST competitions. We shared about our competition—FTC and helped answer questions. Over 200 to 300 students became a part of this engaging demonstration, where over hundreds of parents also appreciated our efforts.

STALL AT FAIR NAMED MERCADO 2019

Mahatma Gandhi School 2019

Mahatma Gandhi school 2019 Community Outreach program where we shared our knowledge with some of the students who were younger than us. In this community outreach, we went to Mahatma Gandhi English Medium school and took a session with one of the classes of 5th standard. It was a 1-hour session where we, first of all, introduced ourselves then introduced them to FIRST. But the main job was to introduce these splendid young minds to basic concepts of robotics via STEM concepts and to do so we gave them the challenge of making a sweeper bot.
